Perhaps, I am wrong and I don't know of life. Some processes and changes are coming now, in Russia. However, it is said, "old ideas are products of old teams, and new ideas come only with new people". Russian science is monopolized by Orthodoxes. I respect them for the strength of their faith and for their good organization. It is inane to prove to them something new when they are sure "it is impossible since it can not be possible". They have their own understanding of life from their practical experience and they can not accept any new experience. My interest in fuelless energy started in 1989, recall the articles by Pons and Fleishmann. It was a period of UFO knowledge growth in St. Petersburg, with "gravitation" and "teleportation" becoming more than sci-fiction words.
After my first USA publication in 1994, my worldwide international postal correspondence with other scientists was strangely halted. All of my contacts became weak and censored. I met with several attempts from cranks and prattles to charge me with something that is out of the topic of my interest. Their idea was that the author can be disconnected from the real community and immersed in "artificial intercourse". It is quite easy to create this situation on the Internet. Sometimes the author can see namesake people who are developing the same ideas. It is also a well known practice to surround the author with people of absolute alternative orientation for all aspects of life. Dirty rumors are an old method, but it works very well to prevent contacts between the author and serious investors, and it creates family problems.
After 1996, I received many contacts from people who were interested to get a prototype for re-sale. My open description and home laboratory experiments were not quite good enough for them. But serious work is possible only with a serious customer. It is also said, "Look at the situation before you jump and say Oops." It is impossible to develop any sensation from experimental laboratory results up to commercial applications if there is no good team of managers, engineers and scientists.
Even if some ideas I considered from 1989 are already realized in powerful teams and labs, the information in my papers is the plan only. Customers define the topic for future research and development. New technology cannot be commercialized immediately if it was not produced for some certain customer. For example, 100 years ago N. Tesla demonstrated his technologies but where are they now? W. Hyde patented his perpetual motion machine but I wonder if he sold one license. What's the matter here? I suppose, the problem of independent research work is a strong wish of the author to join science and commerce. But it is impossible to "serve two Gods at the same time". The solution is a "step by step work plan". The first step is for creative work when the author is developing an original understanding of nature; this is pure science without any commercial ideas. The second step is teamwork for customer, for profit.
If God will be kind, the author can reach great progress
in understandings of nature. In this case, the author's terminology and
experimental methods can be changed to be very different from classical
science. So, attempts to share knowledge with people will bring laughter
and non-constructive critique. This is often found in any non-professional
scientific conference. But if the author can wait for understanding in
the very far future, then the author's family will not suffer with financial
problems or from ridicule of "crazy ideas". The Russian scientist Ziolkowsky
wrote about his everyday shame for his poor family when he worked on theoretical
space projects.
One more problem of independent research work is that
some directions of investigations are monopolized by different state structures.
They consider all authors as their property. They accept all information
from the author and sometimes they might say "thanks for your help". But
from the other hand, they have great experience in creation of the "mad
inventor" label for the author. So, they gain valuable results free of
charge since "the author is not a serious person" (and they work to prove
it every way possible). Then they can "translate" original work to "academician"
terminology and accept it as their own work.
So, for the creative work step, it is not necessary to spent time struggling with Orthodoxes. The next step is realization of ideas, which is possible with teamwork for some customers.
One year ago, my engineer salary was several times more than any professor’s salary. Since May 1999, I tried to find a way for realization of my ideas in Russia. The first question in any scientific organization I met with was "Where are you from and who is working with you?" It doesn’t matter what your proposal is for academician people if you have no recommendations from their authorities. It is a kind of "private club". I do not think it is just a Russian problem, however. Everywhere, the demand defines the offers. But there is a great difference between countries in demand for certain technologies. For example, NASA opened up competition for new types of spacecraft propulsion. The conclusion is real customers are interested in new ideas and authors. All other versions are only "trade in science".
A powerful factor that made me make the final decision and find a strategical partner is time. It is known, capacity for creative work decreases with age. Now, I have to analyze once more my projects from the past 10 years. The time is now to stop generation of ideas and to start realization of plans. I wonder if some financial power in Russia sees a real need in my proposals.
I have already heard the talk about "Motherland sales". The same people noted I had no connection with the state’s secret topics. I suppose they are thinking by the standard way, when someone steals state secrets, then he is going to immigrate. It is necessary to be passionate for pure science to spend your own time and salary for books, international magazines, Internet and experiments. Please, try this yourself and see if after 10 years you get some valuable results. But even then, I wonder if you'll find the way for innovation and commercialization in Russia. Sure, the future of the world belongs to powerful Russia, and it is necessary now to work for it any way possible with any investor. In the opposite case we'll continue to write "Poynting vector" instead of "Umov vector".
